The Australian National Blood Authority and IFPBM have joined forces to produce a 10-minute video teaching module – ‘Louise’ – A Patient Blood Management Case Study.
The module follows a patient’s journey as she was treated for colorectal cancer. The patient, Louise, is herself a medical researcher and was aware of the benefits of Patient Blood Management. Louise explains her treatment, emotions and outcomes as she was diagnosed and treated for the cancer.
Insightful interviews with medical practitioners analyse the case study and give a balanced perspective of patient’s rights and how to manage their expectations.
The video was launched in 2014 and is available from the Australian National Blood Authority at www.blood.gov.au.
