Prof. Sigismond LasockiAnesthesiology and Critical Care, Angers University Hospital
Professor Sigismond LASOCKI is a professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine and is chairman of the anesthesiology, critical care and Emergency department at the Angers’ university hospital, France, since 2013. He was awarded his medical degree and MD at the University Denis Diderot, in Paris, France. He also passed his PhD at the INSERM in Paris. He is a member of the intensive care committee of the SFAR (French society of anesthesiology and critical care), the committee of nutrition and of perioperative medicine of the ESICM.
His areas of expertise are anemia and iron metabolism in critically ill and perioperative patients. He develops a Patient Blood Management program at his institution, the OZeT program (“Objective Zero Transfusion”). He also is the head of a laboratory research team, part of the MitoLab Institute at Angers medical University. The lab research explores the cellular mechanisms of fatigue and muscular weakness of iron deficiency in an mouse model of iron deficiency without anemia.
He has published over 90 journal articles, including numerous original papers and review articles regarding patient blood management and iron treatment. He served in the editorial board of intensive care medicine journal, and has participated in numerous committees and scientific advisory boards.
