  • Coordinator of international consensus documents on anaemia management in surgery, obstetrics and cancer, and on postpartum haemorrhage management. Presently coordinator of the Seville’s Document update.

  • Supervised 15 PhD Thesis on topics related to PBM, 3 of which with honours. Teaching activities have been focused on perioperative transfusion medicine, nutrition and dietetics, and medical biochemistry

  • Clinical areas of interest are perioperative anaemia management, with special interest in iron homeostasis and point-of-care monitoring

  • Network for advancement of Advancement of Patient Blood Management, Thrombosis and Haemostasis (NATA). Member of the Board of Directors

  • European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA). Member.
